Shopify says 142.
The shelf says 104.
Thirty-eight units you cannot account for. Some were never counted. Some were sold by the gram and rounded away. Some went out on hire and were never written down. MiMi closes all three gaps, on the POS already sitting on your counter.

Your stock is only ever in three places
On the shelf, over the counter, or out on hire. Between those three places is where stock quietly disappears. Closing that gap is the whole product.
Nobody counts, because counting closes the shop.
Run stock takes and inventory counts on the Shopify POS devices you already own. Scan or type, keep counting with no signal, and review every discrepancy before a single number moves in Shopify.
Stock take on any POS device
Scan barcodes or type, and it works with no signal. Staff move down the aisle on the device already sitting on your counter — nothing new to buy, nothing to provision.
Every discrepancy, before you approve
Inventory count reports show what was counted against what the system expected. Nothing is written to Shopify until somebody reviews that report and approves it.
Full counts or quick cycle counts
Run a complete stock take, or scope a fast cycle count by collection, vendor or location. Counting one aisle on a Tuesday beats counting nothing all year.

It is counted. Now somebody wants 640 grams of it.
Monday’s count is right. Tuesday’s is not.
Sell 0.640 kg of coffee or 2.5 metres of canvas and have inventory move by exactly that, not by a whole unit. Runs on the Shopify POS device you already have, with no extra hardware.
Weight, length, area or volume
Sell by the unit your trade actually uses — kilograms at a deli counter, metres at a fabric roll, square metres of board, litres of oil.
Inventory adjusts with every order
Sell 0.640 kg and stock drops by 0.640, not by one. The figure you fixed with a stock take stays fixed through the week.
Fractional stock, tracked properly
Built-in inventory tracking handles part-units, so a half-used roll or an open sack is a real number rather than a rounding error.
Stock moved by 0.640, not by 1.

Not everything you hand over is sold. Some of it you want back.
It is not missing. It is out.
Add a date picker to any product page and track what is out, what is due back, and what is late. Availability counts units, so ten chairs take ten overlapping bookings rather than one.
Customers pick start and return dates
A date picker sits on your product page, so a hire is booked the same way anything else is bought.
Availability counts units
Ten chairs carry ten overlapping bookings. Stock is not a yes/no flag, it is a count — which is the difference between taking the order and turning it away.
Turnaround buffers in business days
Block the days you need to clean and check an item, skipping weekends and your own public holidays.

The number holds
Count it, weigh it, track what went out. The variance stops swinging and starts sitting inside a tolerance you set.
Written for people who are standing up
Retail staff are holding a scanner, a box, or somebody’s order. Every decision below follows from that.
- 01
No new hardware
Everything runs on the Shopify POS device already on your counter. No scanners to buy, no tablets to provision, no IT project.
- 02
Works without signal
Stockrooms and basements have bad Wi-Fi. Counting keeps working and syncs once you are back in range.
- 03
Nothing changes without you
Count reports show every discrepancy first. Stock levels move only after somebody with the authority to approve them says so.
- 04
Multi-location, without POS Pro
Count, transfer and replenish across every location you run. You do not need to upgrade your POS subscription to do it.
- 05
Your team’s language
Translated across English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Japanese, Portuguese and Chinese, so staff read instructions they understand.

A person answers you
Support goes to the people who build the apps. No ticket maze, no chatbot loop — a real answer about your actual store.
We would rather be honest than look bigger
Plenty of app sites decorate themselves with invented testimonials and merchant counts. We do not. Here is exactly where MiMi stands today — including the parts that do not flatter us.
Free to install. Here is exactly what that means.
If a paid plan ever applies to your store, Shopify shows you the exact amount and requires you to approve it before it takes effect. We never see or store your card details.
What free includes
- Full feature set
- Unlimited locations
- All translations
- Email support
What free is not
- A countdown trial
- A crippled tier
- A card up front
- A contract
What merchants ask before they install
No. Most shops start with the count, because that is where the money is leaking. The others are there when you need them, and each is a separate free install on the Shopify App Store.
No. Counting works across multiple locations without POS Pro, and selling by weight runs on the standard Shopify POS app. If your store does have POS Pro, everything still works as it should.
Counting continues. Scan or type as normal and the session syncs once the device is back in range. Stockrooms are exactly where connectivity fails, so this was a requirement rather than an extra.
No. A count produces a report showing every discrepancy between the counted figure and the system figure. Nothing is written to your inventory until somebody reviews that report and approves it.
It differs per app, and the Shopify install screen is the authoritative list — read it before you approve. Broadly: products and variants, inventory levels and locations. Product Rentals additionally needs order and customer data, including the name and delivery address on a booking, because a hire has to be tied to the person who booked it and the date it is due back. We use it to run the feature and nothing else — no profiling, no resale. If the install screen ever asks for more than this page describes, trust the install screen and tell us, because that is our documentation being wrong. Full detail: Privacy Policy and Security.
Shopify notifies us on uninstall and sends a shop redaction request 48 hours later. We delete the store’s data on receipt, within the period Shopify requires. You can also email us and ask for deletion directly.
It is a fair thing to weigh up. Sell by Weight and Product Rentals are recent launches, so they have not gathered public reviews. Stocktake & Inventory Count is rated 5.0 on the Shopify App Store. All are free to install, all passed Shopify’s app review, and you can uninstall in one click — so trying one costs you very little beyond the time.
Email mimiapps11@gmail.com with your store URL and what you were doing when it went wrong. It reaches the people who build the apps and we aim to reply within one business day. The Support page lists what to include so we can fix it faster.
Count it once, properly.
Free to install, running on the device already on your counter, and gone in one click if it is not for you.
