All three MiMi apps — Stocktake & Inventory Count, Sell by Weight & More for POS, and MiMi Product Rentals — are currently free to install. If nothing has been charged to your Shopify account, there is nothing to refund, and cancelling is simply a matter of uninstalling.
1. Current pricing
Our apps are offered free to install. Where a paid plan or usage-based charge applies to your store now or in future, the App Store listing and the in-app billing screen will state the exact amount before you approve anything. Shopify will not apply a charge to your store without your explicit approval.
The sections below govern any charge that does apply, so that you know the position in advance rather than discovering it at the point of dispute.
2. How billing works
All charges for MiMi apps are processed by Shopify through the Shopify Billing API. In practice this means:
- Charges appear on your regular Shopify invoice, not as a separate transaction from us.
- We never see or store your payment card details.
- Recurring subscriptions are billed on your store's 30-day Shopify billing cycle, generally in advance.
- Shopify shows you the amount and the frequency, and requires you to approve it, before the first charge.
- Because Shopify holds the payment relationship, some refunds must be issued through Shopify, and Shopify's own Terms of Service apply to that transaction.
3. How to cancel
You can cancel at any time, without contacting us and without giving a reason:
- Open your Shopify admin.
- Go to Settings → Apps and sales channels.
- Find the MiMi app you want to remove.
- Select Uninstall and confirm.
Uninstalling immediately cancels any recurring charge associated with that app. There is no cancellation fee, no notice period and no retention process to sit through.
4. What happens after you cancel
- Access ends immediately. The app is removed from your admin and POS, and it stops accessing your store data.
- No further charges. Shopify stops the recurring charge from the point of uninstall.
- The current period is not automatically pro-rated. Because subscriptions are billed in advance, a charge already taken for the current 30-day cycle is not automatically refunded on uninstall. See section 5 for when we will refund it anyway.
- Your store data is deleted in line with our retention schedule — normally following Shopify's
shop/redactrequest, which arrives 48 hours after uninstall. - Your Shopify data is untouched. Inventory levels, products and orders remain exactly as they were in Shopify. We do not roll back changes you approved while the app was in use.
If you want to keep count reports, purchase orders or rental records held inside an app, export them before uninstalling. Once deletion runs, we cannot recover them — which is the point of a deletion guarantee, but it does mean the timing is on you.
5. When we issue refunds
We would rather refund a merchant than argue with one. We will normally issue a full or partial refund where:
- A charge was applied in error — a duplicate charge, a charge after uninstall, or a charge on the wrong plan.
- The app did not work as described on your store, we could not fix it within a reasonable time, and you uninstalled because of it.
- You were charged during a documented outage that made the app substantially unusable for a significant part of the billing period.
- You uninstalled within 14 days of your first paid charge and tell us you were not satisfied. We do not require you to justify the decision.
- You upgraded by mistake and contact us promptly, before meaningful use of the higher tier.
Where a refund is warranted but partial, we calculate it pro-rata for the unused portion of the billing period, rounded in your favour.
6. When we do not
To be equally clear about the other direction, we will generally decline a refund where:
- The billing period was substantially used and the app worked as described.
- The request concerns a period more than 60 days in the past, unless the law requires otherwise.
- The problem is caused by a third party outside our control — a Shopify platform outage, a change to Shopify's APIs, your hardware, or your network.
- The app was used in breach of our Terms of Service, or the account was suspended for abuse.
- The dissatisfaction is with a feature the listing never claimed to provide. If a listing was genuinely misleading, tell us — that is a problem we want to fix at the source.
These are defaults, not absolutes. If your situation is unusual and you think a refund is fair, make the case to us and we will consider it on its merits.
7. Requesting a refund
Email mimiapps11@gmail.com with:
- Your store URL (the
.myshopify.comdomain is most reliable). - The app name and the plan you were on.
- The charge date and amount, or a screenshot of the line on your Shopify invoice.
- A sentence on what went wrong. Detail helps, but we will not interrogate you.
We aim to acknowledge within one business day and to reach a decision within three. If we need something else from you to process it, we will ask once and clearly.
8. Processing times
| Stage | Typical time |
|---|---|
| We acknowledge your request | 1 business day |
| We reach a decision | Up to 3 business days |
| Refund submitted to Shopify | Within 2 business days of approval |
| Funds appear on your statement | 5–10 business days, depending on your bank |
The final step is controlled by Shopify and your payment provider, not by us. If it has been longer than ten business days since we confirmed a refund, tell us and we will chase it.
9. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under mandatory consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by agreement. If you are a consumer in the EEA or the UK and a statutory right of withdrawal applies to your purchase, that right applies in addition to everything set out above, not instead of it.
10. Disputes and chargebacks
If you disagree with a decision, reply to the same email thread and ask us to review it. A person will look again, and we will explain the reasoning rather than restating the policy at you.
Please contact us before raising a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback on a Shopify-billed charge is slow, is handled by parties who cannot see the facts, and often ends worse for both of us than a direct conversation would have. We have never refused to talk.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for instance if we introduce paid plans. The effective date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and the policy in force at the time of your charge is the one that applies to it.
